Cooper and Abernethy is a division of The Lachicotte Company and is a privately held full service real estate company with a focus towards developing, acquiring, operating and providing property management services to quality single and multi-tenant real estate assets. Our management team has extensive experience in market research and analysis, site identification and selection, all types of real estate transactions and management, together with a solid understanding of regulatory and code requirements in which our clients and their projects must operate. Our team are experienced negotiators for the purchase, lease and development of all type projects; acquisitions, dispositions, leasing (land, office, retail and industrial, etc.), joint ventures, and sale leasebacks, and build to suits, by way of example.

We have access to qualified legal representation and assistance as appropriate and/or requested by our client. We have accumulated an inventory, and currently provide in-house management of commercial assets consisting of office, retail, medical facilities, financial institutions, and other forms of commercial real estate properties.

Chuck Cooper, Senior Advisor

Chuck is a lifelong resident of Georgetown County. After college, Chuck owned Palmetto Landscaping Company and later sold the business to become a Licensed Healthcare Administrator for the Manor House Nursing Facilities. Chuck was responsible for seven facilities located throughout the state of South Carolina with over 3000 employees total. Chuck has been a licensed real estate agent for 10 years.

Chip Abernethy, Senior Advisor

Chip has been a licensed real estate agent since 2001. He began his journey as a sales agent for new developments along the Grand Strand and in the year of 2004, he began developing residential communities also. Chip has the knowledge for developing raw land tracks into fully developed lots with full amenities. He works on both sales and leasing of commercial properties.
